Interview FOEM/Christ Saddler: Hello to both of you and welcome to the FOEM interview room :) Take your time, relax and let\'s have a chat about music and many others. First of all, I want to know how did you met each other? Anything special regarding that moment? Noar: We met on the street. Noar was wondering around when she bumped in to a big guy with a black cap on that had the letters \"REALIZE MUSIC\". It was love at first sight. FOEM/Christ Saddler: When you\'ve met did you thought you will make music together? Noar: Straight ahead, we had no doubts about it. FOEM/Christ Saddler: I have listened your tracks and I must admit they offered me an escape from all this heavy-drum\'n\'bass massive movement here in Romania. You have chosen a style more melodic. Why? Noar: The melodic style what you mention was not chosen, it came up when we started to jam, Noar´s roots are more in bossa nova, and Adam´s favourite music is more commercial than underground. The result is basically the mixture of the 2 completely different point of view. We complete each other. What is one's weakness is the other's strength. FOEM/Christ Saddler: Which one of you is playing the guitar, which one the drums and which one is with the voice? Oh, and let\'s not forget about the lyrics too. Noar: Noar is playing guitar, bass and she writes the lyrics which she also sings. Adam makes the rhythm and adds pads, synths and effects to the creative ideas of Noar. He is more technical related to the production and his strongest skills are arranging, mixing and mastering. Noar also uses sequencers to put her ideas on computer. the ready project file goes to Adam who finishes it with his professional technique. FOEM/Christ Saddler: Do you combine instruments with software synthesizers? Noar: Yes, we do. Our theory is that without instruments there would be no feelings and without singing there would be no soul in the music. We try to have the roots of the track as instrumental as possible. We use live bass and maybe double it with a guitar bass line to have more acoustic feeling. FOEM/Christ Saddler: I\'ve heard some rumours that you are in a continuous search for new talents. Are you trying to increase the number of band members or is it just to promote unknown talents? Noar: Yes you are right, we are still looking for talented musicians to get a band together but as we all know it is probably the most difficult part of all music producing. We tried with several other musicians but combining live musicians with a computer is almost impossible. We look for new possibilities and probably in the future we will work out a compromised situation. FOEM/Christ Saddler: How do you search for these? Noar: In the age of the Internet getting connected with people with the same interest is not so difficult. Adam is putting out adds in music forums and we are both active \'online musicians\'. FOEM/Christ Saddler: Besides making music what else do you do in the real life? Noar: Noar makes videos (of anything) and sometimes goes downhill mountain biking. She lives in the company of two cute little doggies, Pamu and Kira that keeps her busy. Adam paints, goes to baths (water has to be warm) and goes rollerblading as well sometimes. FOEM/Christ Saddler: Any plans for the future regarding the music scene? Noar: At the moment we are mainly concentrating on writing and recording. For the further future we have great plans. With our visual background and probably with some VJ help we would like to start planing a debut performance witch would be something of a multimedia event. In an ideal world it would work like a set of short films with live music in the front (since the projection is in the background) for an overall experience. FOEM/Christ Saddler: OK, now let\'s play a little game. Let\'s just say that both of you are on a blue island where the grass is yellow and the birds me wow. There are only two flowers here. Everyone of you gets madly in love with one of them. The flower lives only if you write a poem for her and it also turns in the color you like. The poem must be short and the last verse should end with the color you like :) Now get to work. Noar: Oh flowers of the blue island Living examples of a legend. A legend that talks about a challenge How you turned the Blue to Orange. FOEM/Christ Saddler: Very nice, good job guys! In the end tell me to which famous pop star you would like to make a remix track? Noar: Björk FOEM/Christ Saddler: Thanks for this nice interview! FOEM will support you as much as possible in the future! |
