Jason Szostek - Biography |
Since the mid 80's, Jason Szostek has has been on the vanguard of electronic sound experiments. On his own as bpmf, and as a collaborator in various artist and label projects. From his first electronic duo The Free World, to the freeform improvisational supergroup The Rancho Relaxo Allstars Jason Szostek has helped push the limits of electronic music both sonically and improvisationally. Along the way he was pivitol in creating New York's original live acid perfrmance trio Prototype 909. The sounds of his labels: Schmer and Serotonin ranged from rough and ready techno to the intelligent electro-funk of Synapse and the space ambience of bpmf. bpmf's most recent release “Parousia Fallacy” helped restart Serotonin in a solidly experimental direction, subsequent releases from Synapse will put that energy back on the dance floor. |
